I was a late bloomer in starting my drumming career. I played guitar and saxophone before I was finally allowed to get a drum set. I would like to think my grandparents first off, for allowing me to put the drum kit in their house. My first audition was with Allen Kimble and another guitar player named Kemp Hux. Things did not work out with Kimble, so I formed a band with Kemp and other friends of mine. We were called METAL STORM. We played covers of Megadeth, Metallica, Alice in Chains, and so forth. We also played several originals. This band gave me exposure at a local club where I met Lucky Riggs. Lucky played in a competing band called Wicked Stepchild. Over the years we played countless shows together. I also met Ray Bauer, with whom I would join forces with in 1994 after leaving METAL STORM. The band was called MIRROR MIRROR. MM was a more melodic band, relying on vocal harmonies and odd time signatures for our sound. I learned a great deal from that band, especially the guitarist Rob Stan and the bassist Walt Stanley. We played numerous shows around for a year and a half before my departure in 1995, which saw me land in COLD GIN, a KISS Tribute Band. The experience was useful in teaching me the dealings of being on the road as we toured the east coast. After a 6 month stint in the band I went back to MM for a few months before the band dissolved. A year later MM reformed with a lineup change that saw our music get even more technical. Due to personal conflicts though the band was doomed. Thus leaving me in retirement for 6 years. All the while my brother-in-law, Lucky was in my ear about playing again. Finally after a few attempts this current lineup was put together in December 2002. I am grateful for being allowed the privilege of making music with Lucky, Allen, and Bruce. This project, is the most promising one to date.
